"In my next life I want to live my life backwards. You start out dead
and get that out of the way. Then you wake up in an old people's home
feeling better every day. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go
collect your pension, and then when you start working, you get a gold
watch and a party on your first day. You work for 40 years until you're
young enough to enjoy your retirement. You party, drink alcohol, and
are generally promiscuous, then you are ready for high school. You then
go to primary school, you become a kid, you play. You have no
responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born. And then you
spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa like conditions with
central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters every day and
then Voila! You finish off as an orgasm!"
We did a session for Cormac Battle on Rte 2fm the day before yesterday. For only the second time ever we did a cover! We had a shot at "Your Woman" by Whitetown. Hopefully you approve when you hear it. The show goes out February 1st at 8pm. We also did versions of Megaphone Man and Keep The Noise Down. Also, just wanna let you know the Spring tour is almost ready to be announced....one or two bits to be tied up but watch the main news page over the next couple days.
I watched the movie Sideways last night again. It's really funny...I love wine snobs! Paul Giamatti is the man and I love his mate - the guy Thomas Haden Church plays. Was meant to go see The Wrestler but I'm smashed. I'm reading more Kurt Vonnegut. Hocus Pocus is the book. 52 pages in....really good so far. I 've started getting trumpet lessons from one of the guys who played on FTWG, Bill Blackmore. It's not an easy instrument. Really trying to get into a pattern of consistent songwriting again. A few bits are coming together nicely and we're beginning to semi get on the ball with what we wanna do next
The song I am listening to right now is....
TRACK OF THE DAY - JAMES CARR - YOU GOT MY MIND MESSED UP
Speaking of Sideways, I was just recently reading about the sales of merlot wines tanked after the film came out. I mean I know nothing about wine and I only drink it when I'm already drunk, but I will never stop repeating the "I am not drinking any fucking Merlot!" line.
And I need to read Hocus Pocus again. I read it in an afternoon on a Spanish beach in October one year but it has just occurred to me that I have no idea what it's about.
